- Connected a scan tool and found codes: P2106 – Throttle Actuator Control System – Forced Limited Power and P2119 – Throttle Actuator Control Throttle Body Range/Performance. Performed a visual inspection of the air intake system and found there were no obstructions and the air filter was correctly installed. Performed a visual inspection of the throttle body and found the throttle body had heavy carbon buildup between the throttle valve and the housing. Cleaned the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and observed the throttle valve still did not move smoothly. Disconnected the throttle motor connector, used a multi-meter to measure the resistance of the throttle motor between the terminals and found the measured resistance was out of specifications. The results of these tests verified the throttle body was faulty. The throttle body and the throttle body gasket are replaced as an assembly. Correction Replaced the throttle body and the throttle body gasket, cleared codes, performed a road test and verified the vehicle operated properly. The check engine light did not illuminate and no fault codes returned.
